sell
Are you a nonprofit organization? An enterprising artist or crafter? A saintly steward of the PTA? A shameless capitalist? Do you want to sell something at Porchfest to raise or make money? We applaud your initiative.
Because Porchfest is grassroots and not operated like a conventional festival, we don’t have any sort of formal vending program, food court, or orchestrated opportunities for people to sell things. Our only real job is coordinating performances which, it just so happens, tends to generate a big crowd. If that crowd is something you want to (legally) take advantage of, we encourage you to have at it. Here’s how:
Find a lawn, driveway or comparable, privately owned spot within our boundaries where you'd like to set up and operate (meaning: you can't sell on the sidewalk, on the street, in a park, or in any other public space). If it's your house, great. Or, reach out to a neighbor or other Oakhurst resident and get permission to use theirs. There's a whole social media infrastructure available to you to find friends of friends of friends to land yourself a place.
After that, it's whatever you choose to do at your own meticulous discretion. We play no role in condoning or condemning, assisting or resisting, permitting or prohibiting. We're blissfully unaffiliated and leave you to make plans and decisions for yourself.
But that said, we're happy to hook you up once you've got your plan together. Contact us and let us know:
1. Where you'll be; and
2. What you'll be selling.
We'll then add refreshment information to the online festival map and promote crafters and artists via our social media efforts so everyone knows what you've got and where to find you
Self-starters wanted. Be thinking about what you might want to pull together and drop us a line if you have any questions.
